Native Plant Program

Native plant seed is critical for revegetation after fires or other land-disturbing activities. In the past, most native plant seed came from the Great Plains or Pacific Northwest. Those plants weren't adapted to the climate in Colorado. To fill the need for local "ecotypes" our Native Plant Program was born. We collected seeds from many local plants, tested them to see which varieties grew the best, then had the top species commercially produced. We've grown over 80,000 pounds of native plant seed that's been used in restoration!
